Nd：YAP的化學(xué)式為 Nd3+:?YAlO3，結(jié)構(gòu)畸變鈣鈦礦，屬于斜六方晶系，空間群為Pbnm，a，b，c軸相互垂直，屬于負單軸晶體。并且是各向異性的。在眾多摻釹激光晶體中，Nd：YAP晶體不僅具有高導(dǎo)熱性，而且在4F3/2–4?I13/2躍遷處具有較大的激發(fā)發(fā)射截面。它們是目前已知的最有效的激光晶體之一，以1300nm的高功率工作，該晶體主要由LD泵浦。1300nm激光器廣泛用于醫(yī)學(xué)，光纖通信和軍事領(lǐng)域。此外，水分子在此激光波段具有良好的吸收能力。這使其具有很好的止血能力，并廣泛用于止血、神經(jīng)外科手術(shù)、病理組織切除和除皺等激光治療。另外，Nd：YAP晶體具有自然的雙折射特性，對于克服激光的熱去極化和非線??性頻率轉(zhuǎn)換非常有益。
